Six Days Programs

During this six days means from 1st Rajab up to 2:00 P.M. (Noon) on behalf of khadims or pilgrims Chhati Sharif program is being performed. In the house of khadims "Mahfil-E-Milad", reciting Quran-Khwani, "Khatm-E-Khwajgan", Khatm-E-Younus" are continuously performed. At night often "Qawwali program" also is performed. Like this, near the "Huzra" at Dargah Sharif Khadims aslo arrange some other special type of "Mahfils".

9th Rajab (Gusal Ceremony)

On the 6th Rajab at 1:00 P.M. (Noon) after the Fateha Qul, Urs-Mubarak is generally concluded and every function like everyday are being performed. But the last ceremony of the Urs-Mubarak is being performed on the 9th Rajab. This is called the ceremony of Gusal-Mubarak.

The specialty of this ceremony is at 8:00 A.M. (Morning) the Roza-Mubarak is closed and at this time only khadims are present inside and wash (gusal) the Mazaar Paak by Rose-Water, Keoda and Itre. This ceremony continues for one hour and during this one hour when the khadims wash the Mazaar-Paak, at this same time pilgrims wash (gusal) the outer side of the Mazaar-Paak Dargah area by their own hands and feel themselves fortunate through this khidmat. For washing the Dargah area they also use through the "Mashakwalla" or take the "Mashkiza" (water bag made of leather) and wash the floor of Dargah area. Thus on the 9th Rajab entire Dargah Sharif is washed and cleaned. Thus the Urs Mubarak is concluded.

As you enter the Dargah, have a look at the two pulchritudinous gateways, Buland Durwaza, which were built by Sultan Ghyasuddin Khilji of Mandoo. Akbar was the first Mogul emperor to visit the Dargah on foot, when Ajmer came under his possession. He built the Akbari Masjid in the Dargah in 1571 A.D. which is a voluminous, red sandstone mosque, situated at the right side of the main entrance. The entrance is decorated with gold and enamel work, as well as Belgian crystal chandeliers , which hung from the apex inside the shrine. Clocks are another regular feature of mosques and Sufi tombs in part to help the faithful keep track of prayer times. In the center of the compound lies the actual Darbar (Mazaar),  bustling with the prayers of the devotees. Around it is a golden railing donated by emperor Jahangir and the crown at the apex is made up of solid gold. Inside, the hush deepens, despite a crush of people. The jeweled mazaar, covered with gold silver works cloth, is protected by silver railings and a great dome above. Pilgrims stand outside the outer railing, and the khadims (hereditary shrine keepers) move in the space in between. The heaps of rose petals give off an incredibly strong scent that fills the room, adding to the atmosphere. The walls are paneled with velvet curtains, including one from Mecca.

Yehe shaan-e-Karamat hai,Yehe shaan-e-Wilayat hai,

Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, whose disciples included the Mughal emperors and who would claim cliques of all creed from every corner of the country. The favored Sufi capital is in the shadow of the Aravallis in central Rajasthan, around 3 hours drive from Jaipur, the capital city. The unbiased ambiance of the Dargah, which calls devotees from every caste, creed and sect, actually rejuvenates one's spirit and fills one's heart with eternal bliss. Since the 13th century, this shrine, richly adorned with silver and gold ornamentation, has enjoyed a huge following and the Urs, or death anniversary, of the saint is observed with huge fanfare.

It is said that Akbar was a devout follower of the saint. He prayed at the Dargah for a son and his wish was fulfilled. Thereafter, he payed regular visits to the Dargah every year from Agra. From then onwards, the Dargah attained the status of wish fulfillment shrine.

Kiya sukoon ka saman hai tere kunche mai,

Hai mere dard ka darmaan tere kunche mai,

Sun kar yeh aaya hoon mai Sarkar tere Koonche mai

Baqshe jate hai Gunahgaar tere Kunche mai,

Kiya sukoon ka saman hai tere kunche mai,

Hai mere dard ka darmaan tere kunche mai,

Sun kar yeh aaya hoon Baqshe jate hai Gunahgaar tere Kunche mai,

The Urs are held at Ajmer, Rajasthan every year at the tomb of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, commemorating his symbolic union with God. The Urs, commemorative celebration is held in the solemn memory of Khwaja Muin-nddin Chisti, a sprightly respected Sufi saint fondly revered as the benefactor of the poor, popularly known as Gareeb Nawaz.

Pilgrims from all over the world every caste, creed rich poor gather to pay homage. Qawalis (poems) are presented in the saint's honor and religious assemblies (mehfils) and 'fatihas' (mass prayers) are held. The lakeside town of Ajmer also called Ajmer Sharif (holy) comes alive during the Urs which attracts thousands of devotees irrespective of caste, religion etc.

Chadar; Ghilaph & Neema, which are votive offerings for several hundred thousand devotees offer the tomb. Mehfils & Qawwalis are held and mass prayer calls for the eternal peace of the mankind. An interesting ritual is the looting of Kheer (Milk Pudding), which is cooked in two large cauldrons, called Degs and distributed to the devotees as tabarruk (blessed food). The lakeside city of Ajmer is located in central Rajasthan, and is held in great reverence by devotees of all communities who call it 'Ajmer Sharif' (Holy Ajmer). It is here that the mortal remains of the highly respected Sufi saint Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Chishty lie buried.

The Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Chishty  came from Iran Isfahan from the order of Hazrat Mohammed Musfata (S.W.A)
see history page His lakab is Aata-E- Rasool love to all mankind and established the Chishtia order of fakirs in India. He is popularly known as Gharib Nawaz (protector of the poor) because he dedicated his entire life to the service of mankind.

The Dargah Sharif in Ajmer is the place where the Saint's mortal remains lie buried and is the site of all Muslims, Hindu, Sikh in India. More than 10-15 lakh devotees belonging to different communities gather from all parts of the subcontinent to pay homage to the Khwaja on his Urs (death anniversary) during the first six days of Rajab (seventh month of the Islamic calendar.)
The pilgrims who come to seek the blessings of the Khwaja make rich offerings called nazrana at the holy spot where the saint has been entombed.

The offerings of rose and jasmine flowers, sandalwood paste, perfumes and incense contribute to the fragrance that floats in the air inside the shrine. Also offered by devotees are the chadar, ghilaph and neema, which are votive offerings for the tomb.

These are brought by devotees on their heads and handed over to the khadims inside the sanctum sanctorum. Outside the sanctum sanctorum of the Dargah, professional singers called qawwals in groups and sing the praises of the saint in a characteristic high-pitched voice. People gather around them and listen attentively, sometimes clapping to the rhythm of their instruments.

Followers of the Khwaja Garib Nawaz many Muslims devotees, believe that seven visits to the Dargah Sharif of Ajmer Sharif is equivalent to one visit to Mecca.

I am inviting all Devotees of every caste, creed rich poor in Urs of great Khwaja Garib Nawaz in ajmer sharif, dargah sharif.
